Yang\u2019s work is deeply shaped by the places they have lived in, traveled to, or dreamt of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working across architecture, multimedia art, and digital media, Yang often explores memory, perception, and spatial narratives. Their ongoing project, <em>Palimpsest<\/em>, funded by the National Culture and Arts Foundation Grant, investigates the fluidity of spatial memory and its representations through research and immersive media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yang received a Master of Architecture from University of California, Berkeley in 2023 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2018. They are the recipient of the National Culture and Arts Foundation Grant (2024, 2025), the Chester Miller Fellowship (2023), and the John K. Yang received a grant from NCAF in 2025 to support their residency at Can Serrat in El Bruc, Spain, during November\u2013December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2024<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>National Culture and Arts Foundation Grant<\/strong><br>Yang received a major grant from the National Culture and Arts Foundation in 2024 for their ongoing project, <em>Palimpsest<\/em>. The grant supports the project\u2019s full two-year development beginning in January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2023<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chester Miller Fellowship<\/strong><br>The Chester Miller Fellowship celebrates exceptional research and design in architecture. Yang received this award for her project, <em>Detours &amp; Deviations<\/em> (2023), an immersive experience that dynamically integrates memories, participant behaviors, and AI technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John K. Branner Fellowship<\/strong><br>The John K. Branner Fellowship supports independent travel to explore specific architectural questions or issues.
