Shin Yang is an artist and spatial designer originally from Taiwan and now based between Los Angeles and Taipei. Yang’s work is deeply shaped by the places they have lived in, traveled to, or dreamt of.
Working across architecture, multimedia art, and digital media, Yang often explores memory, perception, and spatial narratives. Their ongoing project, Palimpsest, funded by the National Culture and Arts Foundation Grant, investigates the fluidity of spatial memory and its representations through research and immersive media.
Yang received a Master of Architecture from University of California, Berkeley in 2023 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2018. They are the recipient of the National Culture and Arts Foundation Grant (2024, 2025), the Chester Miller Fellowship (2023), and the John K. Branner Fellowship (2022).
