228-Meter Decoration

228-Meter Decoration

2017
In collaboration with David Brna

228-Meter Decoration was a project made after a random visit to an office building in Prague’s Staré Vršovice District. During the visit, we were bothered by the surrealistic atmosphere given by some peculiar features, one of which was a blue tube-like decoration on the façade. We decided to play with such eccentric characteristics and transmit sounds from other places via the tube. In the studio, we installed a wall resembling the building façade. The replica has sounds transmitted from the building and window framing photos taken while visiting the building. A video was included in the installation showing a person’s strange interactions with the building.

The project is associated with the following exhibition:

Šaloun Collectivity Problems Research Itinerant Institute – exhibition of Visiting Artist Oleksandr Burlaka and students

Opening|December 19, 2017
Location|Šaloun, Slovenská 4, Praha 10

Through 8 weeks in Šaloun – The Studio of Visiting Artist, we were studying the urban context as the result of collective efforts of society while questioning the forms and possibilities of working collectively within our own group. On the exhibition we are presenting the works with different forms of involvement – the documentation of actions in Prague, Zlín and Ostrava, group works from Bird On A Wire workshop with Gangart (Simonetta Ferfoglia, Heinrich Pichle, Vienna) as well as individual projects.
